Where Life's At

Living in Prince George continues to be a struggle.
Part of what I'm doing with both my doctors is to be happier, but there's only so much drugs and new eating habits can do to make my overall mood happier. There must be other wives, other students going through these phases.

I'm Happy Because
I love my husband and I get to live with him.
I love my two puppies, Miss. Daisy and Caper.
I have a home, a home which I make more and more beautiful each day.
I am going to school and studying a topic I love.
My husband supports me in my current and future ambitions.
It's kind of beautiful up here.
I have a few friends, my sister-in-law Ashley is wonderful,
and I enjoy when I get the rare opportunity to hang out with some of my sorority sisters.
I really enjoy my job in retail lingerie and my coworkers.

I'm Sad Because
I miss my family, my mom and dad, and EVERYONE else.
I miss my friends - Omar, Mallory, Jaclyn, Kayla, Chrissy, and many others!
I don't really know a lot of people here, not very well. Not like my highschool
or college friends, not like the relationship I had with Maggie or with Omar, and because of that
I'm worried that I'll overstrain/stress the relationships that I do have.
My husbands job has crazy hours, so I'm home alone a lot.
I miss the city.
I spend one too many Friday/Saturday nights alone.

So what to do about it?
Well, I should really start blogging more and make some bloggy friends.
I'm thinking of taking up pelvic floor pilates and meeting new people.
I should learn to be more friendly, like talk with people at the dog park. Ashley's so good at it, should listen to her and learn her innate ability.

I wanna be able to open the windows in my house!
Get some fresh air in.
Maybe when I garden my front yard (to make my house look like MY house) I'll meet my neighbours.

Friday Letters

Can you do two links ups in one day? Can you do to posts in one day?

It's my blog, I guess so.

Photobucket

Dear Husband: why do we have to wait until my birthday to buy that new camera. I want it NOW!  I want to take so many cute pictures of our dogs and I want to take pictures of tomorrows birthday party and of all the sorority events. I know my phone works, but not as nice!!!
a sony nex 5.... :)

Dear Vulva: STOP HURTING. OKAY? I want to wear jeans again. I miss my wardrobe. I love tunics and leggings, but its the same.... on this note, I'd like it if youd just get better.... We start treatment next week, please cooperate.

Dear Work: Please pick up. I'm bored.

Dear Dogs: STOP TEARING SHIT APART. That magazine, those recipts, those paint chip cards... was it really satisfying? Also, can you learn to take poops outside in the yard. Thats where you pee, thats where you poop. It's not that hard, really.

Dear Insurance Company: My husband pressured me, I didnt want to close the case, I think I still have unusual amounts of back pain from the accident. The measily $6500 isn't going to cover it. Thank for being a jack ass and calling me on the day of my drivers test.

Dear stomach: I know your hungry, but I want to eat breakfast with my husband who wont get his lazy ass out of bed. Ugh. Plus if we wait we might get bacon. yummmm.

Invisible Illness - 30 Things

I have an invisible illness. I've already blogged about it this week, but today I found out that it's Invisible Illness Week! How fantastic considering Vulvodynia doesn't really have a week or a month of any sorts.
Coincidentally, this week has been one of my biggest flare ups. I'm still stuck in leggings and tunics and itching to wear my jeans and lace tops. I bought new leggings from Roots today, 98% cotton and absolutely amazing. However, the bad/poor leggings from earlier this week have resulted in some unpleasent chaffing... but that might be a little tmi.

Invisible Illness has an opportunity for us to blog about it and share! They have a thirty things list, here I go!

1. The illness I live with is: Provoked vulvodynia

2. I was diagnosed with it in the year: 2011

3. But I had symptoms since: 2010

4. The biggest adjustment I’ve had to make is: no more sex/jeans

5. Most people assume: I'm being overdramatic

6. The hardest part about mornings are: ATM - figuring out what to wear that wont hurt.

7. My favorite medical TV show is: A Gifted Man

8. A gadget I couldn’t live without is: Our Mimi -- (R rated)

9. The hardest part about nights are:  nothing! I'm encouraged to sleep without undies! How great is that1

10. Each day I take 2 pills & vitamins. (No comments, please) --- those aren't for my condition, I have no treatment

11. Regarding alternative treatments I WOULD LOVE TO TRY ANYTHING

BTS

It's Back To School right now, 16 days and counting before the kids get back to classes, and when you work retail, this is the craziest season of the year, and when you don't have enough staff, and you only have a two person managment team instead of a three person it means you work 6-7 days a week, and you work your ass off.

Case in point is yesterday, a busy Saturday and Dyan and I worked a full 8/9 hour days without breaks because there just wasn't the time for a break.

So, that's why the blogosphere is a little quiet ATM

In other news, we are thinking of getting Caper a friend.
We've finished our bedroom.

Peace Out
Bailey

Gone to the Cabin

Eric had made his miles, and I had arranged for a few days off. So, with a desire to go camping, we headed on a mini vacation. I found a cabin available on Plato Island near Quesnel Lake. It was a little farther away than we anticipated. The marker on google maps is wrong (which led us to someones private property, an hour detour from where we were supposed to be)'

I figure, I'm too old to camp, basically, i just don't want to deal with that bullshit of rain, setting up camp. The cabin had a fridge, electricity from 8am - 10pm, and a toilet! It was a great little set up. Our puppy made some friends with another toy poodle, and two other dogs down by the river, and so did we! It was nice to be out of cell reception, and be undistracted.

We tried to teach our puppy how to swim. He didn't really go for it. I think it was too cold and the lake was too cold, and overall unpleasent. He did decide that he liked to dig in the sand! Eric, though, kept his feet in the water the hole time. Too bad the bugs were still bad even though it was noon and bright and sunny!
