I miss my family.

My immediate family, missing the extended
I never imagined that living in another city would make me miss them so bad.
I should have known since I came down with a terrible 'bout of homesickness which had my councillors doubting my return after winter break.
I never really appreciated them as much as I wanted to.

To start with I have the greatest and mot caring parents.
My grandparents are always loving and have an open door.
My Uncle is funny and exciting.
I have an Auntie who I idolize  I hope that I'll be as great as an Aunt as she was - she truly loved and cared for all of her nieces and nephews, and we always had so much fun.
I have fond memories of the times i spent with my aunts and uncles and even my cousins.
I hope that with my future family (is anyone else excited for 2016??!!!???!) will have such a positive and amazing experience. I hope that they will know their aunts and uncles and their grandparents and have amazing loving relationships.
I wish I didn't feel so alone in this city.
I have a few friends but something is still missing.
I miss having someone to really talk too (but my big sis Marie is coming to visit)

Christmas Photos

With Christmas now looming, Eric and I took advantage of our decorated tree/house and our nice outfits (for a friends wedding) and attempted to use our timer to take some family photos.
If only it was easy to get the dogs cooperating!

"The Girls"

"The Boys"

Christmas love. :)

Eric played around with our Sony Nex5R and figured out how to use the applications to hook it up to our phones so we can use our phones to set off the timer.

Alpha Pi Beta Update - Waffle Breakfast

On Sunday I invited my big and my little over for Waffle Breakfast. I don't know my little very well, but my big and I are besties. So, I thought it'd be a great chance to get to know everyone. Plus, we had a general meeting later that afternoon!

I think I'm going to make the waffle breakfast an annual tradition for my little family. We are one of the smallest branches of the sorority. Up until last year it was just Marie and I. But, apparently Marie's big has two other sisters in the active who have littles! So that means we are growing! Yay! This is especially nice because the other families outnumber us massively! :)

Serious, The trick to better waffles is Amaretto!

I had the girls bring their favorite waffle topping. What's yours?
For the most part, I enjoy butter and syrup with the occasional topping of whipped cream.
I also enjoy peanut butter banana and syrup - that's thanks to a trip to Omaha, Nebraska and a very fantastic family.

Welcoming Puppy #02

Call us crazy, we brought home another dog.

Growing up, I was a cat person. My husband says I was lying to myself, I'm truly a dog person.

In May we bought Caper, a poodle cross shih tzu x cotton du tuleau. He is now 5 months old, and a little bundle of joy. We babysat the beasts and Caper was extraordinarily happy. He loves other dogs, and they make him so happy. Naturally, the only answer was to get another dog!
