Sunday Social

This Weeks Questions:
1. Favorite Holiday Movies/TV Specials?
TBH I just love ALL Holiday/movies. I love taking advantage of the Women's networks movies!
2. Do you do any volunteering during the holidays if so what? If not what would you do?
I wish I felt like I had the time. I wanted to do Operation RedNose this year. When I was young we would do 'Angel Trees' at the mall with my girl guides
3. Favorite toy received as a Child for the Holidays?
I remember receiving a porcelain doll when I was >10 and I loved that thing for a long time.

4. What was your must have item in high school for the Holidays?
I have no idea!!!! Ah!
5. Item you begged for the most and never got?
I feel like because I can't remember this, then I obviously never really wanted it! But, I likely begged for lots of things and never got them.
6. What do you do on Christmas Eve?
Mom would make us go to church. blah.
As an adult. I've decided to do a pajamie exchange, and then whatever the family has planned.

Some Raw Success

Eric successfully got the dogs to eat their raw food this evening. But not until he slightly cooked it.
*sigh*

The morning was rough.
Maybe some light poaching/cooking will get them adjusted to the flavours. The internet suggests this might be a possibility, or mixing it with their kibble to get them started. I'm going to try the first, kibble apparently digests differently :S

Any ideas internet world?

Beginning to Switch to Raw food

We are switching to a Raw food diet for our puppies!
Isn't that exciting!
My dad does it with his puppies, and with Caper being super picky and angsty against the kibble, we sought a softer diet - and raw food was one of those answers.

The Bone and Biscuit Company in PG sells raw food diets. It works out to be about the same cost as what my dad pays for his raw food, and it's less than a wet food diet, but more than kibble.

I decided to start yesterday.
I attempted to feed them for breakfast.
Nobody took to it.

So now, I just finished my dinner feeding.
Daisy showed interest, and ate maybe a 1/3 of it.

Maybe I'll attempt later.
Daisy ate her bowl later.
Caper showed no interest.

This morning
Neither liked Elk.
Put back some Chicken. They ate it
Well, correction Daisy ate it.
Caper is running outside with his food.
I'm not sure what that's about.

How long can my dogs go before the cave to the delicousness of their new raw food diet. It's turkey tonight! Maybe tomorrow's menu of Elk will be better.

Alpha Pi Beta Update - Waffle Breakfast

On Sunday I invited my big and my little over for Waffle Breakfast. I don't know my little very well, but my big and I are besties. So, I thought it'd be a great chance to get to know everyone. Plus, we had a general meeting later that afternoon!

I think I'm going to make the waffle breakfast an annual tradition for my little family. We are one of the smallest branches of the sorority. Up until last year it was just Marie and I. But, apparently Marie's big has two other sisters in the active who have littles! So that means we are growing! Yay! This is especially nice because the other families outnumber us massively! :)

Serious, The trick to better waffles is Amaretto!

I had the girls bring their favorite waffle topping. What's yours?
For the most part, I enjoy butter and syrup with the occasional topping of whipped cream.
I also enjoy peanut butter banana and syrup - that's thanks to a trip to Omaha, Nebraska and a very fantastic family.

Sweet Potato & PB Dog Treats

Not only will I be beginning my Christmas baking soon for us human types, but also for the dogs in my life. Including my two rotten beasts, and some other family ones. I picked up these super cute baby christmas cookie cutters as well as a bone cutter, and started the search on pinterest and the web. Today, I tried one from Rebecca Ray

I figure that with the buckets of cookies and squares, why not send some delicious home made dog treats home with everyone.

Sweet Potato and Peanut Butter Dog Treats (adjusted)

2 3/4 cups whole wheat flour
2 eggs
2/3 cup canned sweet potato -- serious, right next to corn and beans
Liquid from the canned sweet potato, just enough to moisten
3 tablespoons peanut butter

Literally, this is easy.
Mix all ingredients until well blended.

Roll out till about 1/2 inch thick.
Cut out cookies with cookie cutter and bake for about 30ish minutes, about 15-20 minutes for the baby ones.

Cool and feed to your dogs!

Daisy LOVES THEM. Caper, I think he's impartial. Daisy is a food pig. She eats anything.

PS. Why is Pinterest not yet a word accepted by spellchecks.
