1. What do you miss most about being a kid?
Fewer responsibilities.
Being able to play.
No financial concerns.
Family holidays.

2. Did you have a nickname growing up? What was it?
My friends in highschool called me BaileyBelle

Friends in elementary school called me Baisley

3. What was your favorite thing to do at recess?
Hide out in the library! Avoid going outside. ;p

4. What did you want to be when you grew up?
A Teacher. A librarian.
Nose in a book - that was my childhood

5. What was your favorite toy?
I don't remember any toys. I remember begging for a porcelian doll, and getting one and carying it around EVERYWHERE. I don't seem to have a copy of a picture, but my dad made me this harp when I was a kid out of drift wood and fishing line. :S

6. What is the funniest thing you did as a kid that your parents still remind you about?
At my Bridal Shower my Grandma shared a story of me taking cobs of corn (already stripped of their kernels), one in each hand, and rolling them around on the floor. I thought it was cute.

Seriously, who let me have this hair cut?

Sept 29 - National Coffee Day

Did you know today is National Coffee Day?
my secret... I didn't have a coffee today, instead an Earl Grey Latte because I'm feeling under the weather.

So here's to a post about coffee!

5 Things About Me & Coffee

1. My Favorite Coffee: Kicking Horse Coffee. Nothing else compares. This is definitely our favorite cup of Joe. We only drink the mild roasts, and usually we mix it up. It's expensive, but every now and then it goes on sale at Save on Foods so then we stock up.

2. My favorite Coffee Shop: I'm a cough up. I LOVE Starbucks. I love hanging out there. I love the baristas at my local stores.

3. My favorite 'fancy coffee' drink: Caramel Latte's. Non fat please. Full fat makes it too sweet.

4. How I drink my coffee: mild, 3 cream, 2 sugars.

5. When I started drinking coffee: At Cottey College, 2nd Year. All of a sudden it was 3 coffee's a day....

And this post wouldn't be complete without a few fun facts about coffee!

First - You have to check out the infographic from The Oatmeal!

Say What Facts

... Turkish bridegrooms were once required to make a promise during their wedding ceremonies to always provide their new wives with coffee? If they failed to do so, it was grounds for divorce! source

... caffeine is on the International Olympic Committee list of prohibited substances? Athletes who test positive for more than 12 micrograms of caffeine per millilitre of urine may be banned from the Olympic Games. This level may be reached after drinking about 5 cups of coffee. source
Coffee might boost male fertility?

There's a world record for coffe consumption --- 82 cups in 7 hours!

Coffee beans are actually the pit of a berry, which makes them a fruit. The best fruit. source

Coffee & Puppy House Training

These little guys (I know, only Daisy is seen here) HATE COFFEE! We discovered this recently when sitting around and we offered them a smell of our coffee... because could, and they 'ran away' from us.

So after some internet research and some waving of coffee under their noises we came to the deduction that dogs just don't like coffee.

Our puppies are still in the process of being housebroken (AGH!!!)
They have a favorite corner that we can't block off like we did around the TV (because of chairs and lamps, etcetra). This corner is where they love to poop and pee because we can't see them to scold their little asses outside. So, Hubby proposed we use some of the coffee we don't like to turn them off the area. I've been trying to use Knock Out spray on their stains to lift the odors and ultimately not 'encourage' continue use, but it wasn't discouraging.

So I deep cleaned my carpets, let them dry, and then I sprinkled ground coffee over the area. Like so:

I let it sit for a couple of hours and vacuumed.
My house smelt like coffee. No complaints here.

I put everything back.

It's been two weeks and they haven't done anything in that space.
Daisy even like to curl up against the wall. She doesn't anymore.
I think I might do my whole carpet.... ;)
Anyone else have any tricks and tips to house training your puppies?

Bussing to Vancouver

At 5:30 when my alarm went off and said "get out of bed," I rolled over and hit snooze. 6:30 then came and hubby said we had time for more cuddles. 7:00 rolled around and we definitely needed to get the ball moving.

The morning started off with 2 bad things.
1 - I felt it was too early for me to be functioning
2 - if have to spend 10 hours on the bus. Blah.

The first three hours had me thinking that this bus ride wasn't half bad. It was actually pretty chill. I get to sit back and read my books and listen to music. Score.

Finished one book. Almost finished book 2! What am I going to do on Thursday!

In Williams Lake someone put on a movie. And the movie is now changed to Miley and Otis (?). Its brutal. I try so hard to not look up. Why would someone film such a lame movie about a cat and a dog. It doesn't help that every time I look up and see the cute puppy I miss my own puppies!

With 2-3 hours left I'm done. It's no longer relaxing. Just lame. I hate bus seats!

Peace.

Sunday Social

Sunday Social

1. What is something you have wanted to do but are afraid of?
I have wanted to be more social.
I know. Sounds weird. But people can scare me.
I'm afraid to meet new people. To talk to people at meetings. To try to make friends.
I'm kinda quiet. I don't usually think I have anything valuable to say. My stories are lame, and thats how my life feels.

2. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Still Married with a 2 year old! That's right. I hope to graduate in 3 years, get a 'real' job, somewhere in BC and have had just had my first child. I hope my life is still just rocking it.

3. What are you looking forward to before the end of 2012?
Get started on my Vulvodynia treatment.
Dyan's Wedding in December
To go home for Christmas with my loving family.

4. What are your hopes for your blog?
To be somewhere I can ramble about myself.
Maybe make friends
To document my journey's, struggles.
Somewhere for other sufferers of Vulvodynia to follow and realise, were all just normal people living life.

5. Do you always see yourself living in your current town/city?
No. I'd like to retire somewhere cool.
We might move to Kamloops one day.
We will see.

6. What is your morning routine
Press Snooze. Press Snooze. Press Snooze.
Grab puppies. Cuddle. Cuddle. Cuddle.
Get out of bed. Curl up on couch with laptop. Find out what happened last night. Shower. Maybe. Go back to bed.
Get up again. Make coffee. Eat breakfast.
Go to work.

This happens over the period of about an hour. I should really streamline the process.

In other news...
I rocked my first day in jeans in like two weeks! Flare up gone :)
And Caper still not impressed that he has to wear a onsie.... He somehow managed it off though while I was at work, but he stood there staring at me for ten minutes after I put it on :P

Puppie Onsie

What's that? A puppy in a onsie? Say Why?

Because yesterday someone has their 'balls removed' as we like to say around here. While the vet said he was licking, he has started to at home. It's now Friday evening and where am I to get a cone for the little monster at this hour? No where! (It's been a busy day) So, off to the interwebs and this was the best idea for them yet. I figure it'll work long enough to get through the night and until I get him a cone for his adorable head!

For some reason I have this onsie hanging out in my night stand. I think I bought it for someones baby once upon a time.

Off to Bosley's Tomorrow!

Poor Caper. He not only was nutered but had 10 teeth removed (including all of his upper front teeth because of his underbite) and a tattoo (One $$$ Puppy)

Friday Letters

Photobucket

Dear Caper: I hope you get better soon. Please stop licking and just sleep.

Dear Work: Why do you have to be kinda stressful. Why can't it just be easy.

Dear MVP Clinic: It really sucks that I have to travel on the bus 12 hours to attend a 1.5 hour appointment on Wednesday. I wish you could be better considerate of your out of town patients.

Dear Sorority: I'm glad we are off to a good year, I'm just wipped.

Dear Year: Why is September almost over and then the year? Where did 2012 go! Ah, it'll be my birthday soon!

Dear Husband: I need help! Help me clean the house.

Back from Vancouver

Yesterday was trip Numero #2 to Vancouver for medical appts.

The first one back in July was for an assessment to see if I was a candidate for the program. Success. Accepted.

Yesterday was orientation. Orientation to Vulvodynia and the treatments and just a little bit of everything plus sign up. I'm a little nervous and a little scared about the process. It's taking up a lot of my time traveling down and back again, and Im worried I wont find health care providers in Prince George who can support me on the journey to recovery after the 12 week 'tasting menu' is done.

However, much to my enthusiasm there was another woman from PG! Which makes me feel less like a freak :)

Me Myself & I

1) When you're feeling down, what do you do to pick yourself up?
Play with my puppies.

I usually attempt to eat myself up, but really, then  just feel crappy because I ate an entire tub of icecream or an entire bag of chips. I usually mope around the house until hubby smacks me out of it.

Now that I have puppies, puppies make the world a better place.

Seriously, how can you not love those faces

2)  If you had to live in a different time period which would you prefer?
10 years ago I would of said when Elizabeth I reigned over England.

Today. I think the early 1900's would be rad.

3)  What is the most creative Halloween costume you've ever worn?
I fail at Halloween.

Not my thing. I love the holiday. Just fail at the costumes. I love being Dorothy.

4)  Five weird things about you we wouldn't know without being told?
why can you never think on the spot. let me pause and consider the possibilities
Idea # 1 (Brought to you by my husband) --- I never put lids on tight enough.
Idea #2 --- I hate wearing pants
Idea #3 - I hate showering.
Idea #4 --- I don't mix milks.
I wont ever take milk from one jug to fill a glass or a fill a bowl of cereal. I'll just eat dry cereal.
Idea #5 ---

5)  What would you tell your 16-year-old self?
Just chill. Life will turn out fine. It is what you make it.

And those kids, they don't really like you, popular kids are mean that way. Ignore them. They dont ever change :(

Wedding Mondays - Grooms Accessories

I have dropped off my puppies at the boarders house. They are having a sleepover since I'll be gone all day tomorrow until 8 to go to my medical orientation in Vancouver. I miss them so much. I kinda want to cry. I'm never having kids, I don't think I could let go!

Anyways, today is Monday! So let's talk great things from my wedding! Today is all about my husband's amazing accessories! It's gonna be short.

Eric is a conductor for CN Rail who has a a love affair with watches and this has recently grown to include pocket watches. He'll spend hours on the Internet looking at watches. We don't have a good watch maker in town so he gets frustrated easily, but he manages.

The pocket watch at our wedding he ordered off of Ebay. He had to buy a chain for it. And one day it stopped working, apparently the springs just do that. So we took it to the jewellers to get repaired. They sent it to Vancouver and it came back. It arrived and the glass face broke. So they had to send it back to  Vancouver to get the face repaired. Finally arrived and all was good just in time for the wedding.

I bought Eric some cuff links for his shirt! I felt it was necessary. They ended up being a Valentines gift due to excitement and our inability to keep gifts from each other! Loved them. Bough them from Noble Studios LTD

Sunday Social

Exploring the land of blogosphere has led me to this link up at A Complete Waste of Make up.

As for today, I need to go to work, mop the floors, and then work, but then I get to grab my bestie and head over to my big sister's (sorority style) place and hang out at our second rush event of the year! Spyce Night! Can't wait to spend some money!

This Weeks Questions:

1. 5 items you can't live without on a daily basis(water, food, shelter, and clothes dont count)

My iPhone, My puppies.

3 more? Say what?
I don't think there's much more to that....

Maybe our macbook too and my glasses, I'm blind without.

One last....

Starbucks.... if Starbucks, or any type of coffee house ceased to exist, my world would come to an end. I don't use them daily, but enough to warrant their every day existence.

2. All time favorite book? Why?
The only books that I still re read are Jean M. Auels 'Earth's Children's' Series. I love these book. I own all of them, and they are in rough shape. I started reading them in highschool, and every now and then they get pulled out again. They are just awesome books, plus they get a little sexy.

3. Something you'd like to accomplish before the end of 2012

I'd like to finish my kitchen, and the hand rail for the stairs of death! It would also be great if hubby could get al my pictures up and the shelving for the kitchen up!

Cabinet doors came off in June! X|

4. If you could go back and relive any year of your life which year would it be?
I think 2008 was awesome. I graduated from high school that year and headed off to college for some great fun adventures.

5. What do you wish people knew about you without you having to tell them?
I wish people knew that... I'll get back to you.

WHAT VULVODYNIA IS.
How much it affects your life, it's not silly
